Why do I need a Mate account for Pro?

Your subscription lives in your Mate account. That's what lets one subscription work on your Mac, iPhone, iPad and browser extensions, and what lets you get Pro back on a new device. It also carries your synced History and Phrasebook.

Creating the account takes a minute: an email address, a password, and optionally your name. Mate asks for it right after the purchase.

If you paid but skipped the account step, the apps show a reminder: Finish creating account on Mac and iPhone, Finish Creating Account in the extension under Settings › Pro & Sync. Tap it and set a password. The checkout email from Paddle also contains a link to finish the sign-up on matetranslate.com.

Until you finish, Pro works only on the device you bought it on.

Already have an account from another Mate app?

Sign in with it before subscribing, and the subscription attaches to it. If you subscribed with a different email by mistake, write to [email protected] and we'll move it.

App Store subscribers

Apple validates your subscription on any device signed in with your Apple ID, so Mate on your other iPhone or Mac works without an account. The account is still needed for the browser extension and for sync.
