Got a new iPhone or Mac, reinstalled Mate, or the app shows you as a free user again? Here is how to get Pro back.
1. Sign in to your Mate account
This is the fix in most cases. Open Mate's settings and sign in with the email you used when you subscribed:
- Mac: Settings › Subscription › Sign in.
- iPhone and iPad: Settings › Mate Account › Sign in.
- Browser extension: Settings › Pro & Sync, then sign in.
Pro switches on as soon as the server confirms the subscription.
2. Restore App Store purchases
If you subscribed through the App Store and don't have a Mate account, make sure the device uses the same Apple ID, then use Restore purchases in Mate's Subscription settings. The App Store confirms the subscription and Pro is restored. Then create a Mate account anyway, so the extension and sync work.
3. Paid but never created an account?
Look for Finish creating account in the app you paid in. Once the account exists, sign in with it on the new device. If you no longer have the original device, the Paddle checkout email has a link to finish the sign-up. Can't find it? Email [email protected] with the email you paid with.
Lifetime access
Lifetime Pro, from before Mate became a subscription, is attached to your Mate account too. Sign in and it's there. If you bought the Mac app on the App Store years ago, use Restore purchases in addition.
Still showing as free
- Check that the email in Mate's settings is the one on the receipt. People often have two.
- A subscription cancelled for a failed payment can't be restored; subscribe again from the account page or the extension.
- Write to [email protected] with the receipt email and the device. We can look up the subscription and attach it to the right account.
