No. One Mate Pro subscription covers all your devices: Mac, iPhone, iPad, and the browser extensions in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Opera.
How it works
Your subscription is tied to your Mate account, not to a device. After you subscribe, Mate asks you to create an account (or sign in). Sign in with the same account on any other device and Pro is active there too.
- Subscribed on Mac or iPhone via the App Store? Sign in to your Mate account in the app, and Pro carries over to the extension and your other Apple devices. Mate also restores App Store purchases on any device signed in with the same Apple ID.
- Subscribed from the browser extension? Sign in with the same account in the Mac and iOS apps.
If you paid but never created the account, the apps show Finish creating account. Do that first, otherwise there is nothing to sign in with on the other devices. See Restore Mate Pro on a new device.
Getting a new Mac
Install Mate on the new Mac and sign in. If you bought the Mac app on the Mac App Store, re-download it from the App Store's Purchased list with the same Apple ID. If you downloaded it from our site, download it again from matetranslate.com/mac. There are no license keys or activation limits any more.
Lifetime access
If you bought Mate before it became a subscription, you have lifetime Pro. It's tied to your Mate account exactly like a subscription, so sign in on each device. The Subscription page shows "Mate Pro — Lifetime".
History and Phrasebook
They follow your account as well, as long as sync is switched on. See History and sync across devices.
